In this days the Moon is reaching what’s known as its perigee, the closest point to Earth in its orbit. For this reason the next full Moon on May 5, 2012 the Moon could appear as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012.

This mean we will see the bigger and shining Moon of the entire year, next Saturday night.

This year’s Scorpio Full Moon arrives during Beltane (May 1-5), the Celtic Earth Festival that celebrates the beginning of Summer and is also called Wesak Moon, the most auspicious day in Buddhism, for it celebrates the Birth, Enlightenment and Death of Buddha.
